DC day one

In May, Joe and I took a little trip to Washington DC.  We got there late Wednesday evening and flew into BMI and then took a shuttle to Alexandria, Virginia where we were staying.  We shared the shuttle with a family that had 5 kids, two sets of twin boys and a girl in the middle!  bless them.

We dedicated our first day to The Mall and walked around all the memorials.

The Korean War Memorial was really special because of Joe's Popo who fought in the Korean War.

Jefferson Memorial

Lunch at Capitol City Brewing Co.  Wings, brisket sandwich, burger, and fries....yum.

The archives were really neat.  Such an important piece of our American history.  I can't believe they hand wrote everything so perfectly...we did find one edit though that really tickled us (^they).

China Town was happenin with the Verizon Center near by.  The Washington Capitols had a playoff game and it was so neat to see the fans swarming in from every block.  It made us wish that SA wasn't so spread out and that we could tailgate on the street for Spurs games.

White House

National Christmas Tree in the Elipse.  There were tons of intramural games going on out front of the white house. We watched a guy jump the fence to get a foul ball and were afraid he would get arrested.

We ate dinner at Old Ebbitt Grill, a recommendation from the Willis girls.  It was delicious!!  We had clam chowder, crab cakes, and pasta!!
